Do carpet deodorizers overheat vacuums?

I have that new bagless Infinity vacuum.

Do carpet deodorizers overheat vacuums?
I work in a vac repair/sales shop and I think you should keep using those powdered sprinkles. It is job security for me! Regardless what advertisers say, powdered carpet deodorizers clog filters, hoses, and vacs in general. Even if you clean out the filter, and tap it against garbage can after EVERY use, the microscopic pores are going to stay clogged. The filter%26#039;s life is cut in half from these powders. It not just bagless vacs either, the bags also clog. As I service a vac that the owner uses carpet powder, I need to clean out every crevice. I personally do not use them. If I need to %26#039;freshen%26#039; my carpets, I either shampoo them or use a foam that DRIES and can be vac%26#039;ed up. I think I used a Woolite one last.

I guess to directly answer your question, if the air flow in a bagless vac is restricted, the motor may heat up. I have no direct proof that powders caused a motor failure, but the suction is dramatically reduced.

I apologize for my sarcasm, and I hope this helps.
Reply:No, I%26#039;ve never heard of deoderizers overheating a vacuum...However, if you use a deodorizer regularly 1x a week or more you may have to change or empty the filter more often... It can clog... I have a bagless vacuum HOOVER and I dump and tap my filter everytime I vacuum.... I also like to mix the perfumed baking soda deodorizer with reg. baking soda to make the smelly stuff last longer... I get baking soda by the 12 lb. bag for around $5 I use it for laundry and cleaning so it%26#039;s super cheap... While the petfresh stuff is about $3 or more per container!

Good luck
Reply:I have a bagless bissell and Iuse carpet deodorizers...and I don%26#039;t have a problem with over heating my vac. I don%26#039;t use it on a daily basis. Just 1x per week for the deodorizers....but i vac almost every day ( my daughter has 2 boxers...and they love to play outside.)
