Is there a deodorizer that I can pour down my kitchen sink to eliminate odor?

Not sure why, but my sink smells bad. I don%26#039;t have a garbage disposer, just a regular kitchen sink. I am looking for a deodorizer to pour down it to eliminate odor. Thanks so much!

Is there a deodorizer that I can pour down my kitchen sink to eliminate odor?
There is probably food stuck in there and rotting. You need to clean out the plumbing.

Pour half a box of baking soda in the drain. Then, pour half a bottle of plain vinegar. Let it bubble up and dissolve for 20 to 30 minutes. Then pour scalding hot water down the drain. Repeat if necessary.
Reply:I dump bleach down mine to help. It works.
Reply:You can pour some bleach or ammonia down onto the drain. A cup or so and not run the water for a while that will kill the bacteria that causes odors and after that you can squeeze a lemon and leave the leftover lemon in the sink or drain to continue deodorizing.
Reply:Try bleach, and don%26#039;t run the tap for an hour after you%26#039;ve poured it. (It%26#039;ll probably say two-three minutes on the bottle, but just ignore that)
Reply:Open a humble box of baking soda, for under $0.80. That will do it.
Reply:My sink stinks sometimes to, I normally pour some bleach down the sink and it clears up the odor and makes it smell much more fresh. I think feed particles and goo gets stuck in the trap and causes the odor, so if the drainage is slow, you may have a gob of something stuck in there cause it to smell, use Drano to clear up the pipes and make them run smoothly again. Good luck!
Reply:use a clogged drain remover,u get in can its faomy,no deodizer will help if clogged.
Reply:i use SCD EM or SCD Odor Away. its a natural microbe that eats gunk. its kind of the same idea your plumber would use to eat away at stuff. (my plumber did some kind of microbial service thing to get rid of tree roots/gunk or something - only they pair theirs with chemicals too.)

EM you can pour down your drains or sink and the smell/gnats, whatever, whenver you need to. it will go away pretty quick. does for me anyway.
Reply:Try this, it for sure works. Amonia either lemon scent or plain. After doing the dishes at night or before work as long as no one will need to use the sink.Besides amonia has a very strong odor. But thats what it takes,to remove your sinks bad odor problem. Anyway, pour about one cup directly in the drain.I have at times put the plug in after to keep that amonia smell away. Let it sit at least 1 hour, and then run the hottest water for about 3 minutes. If the fist time doesnt drastically help, do it again let sit longer than first time. After do once a month.
Reply:I like to use baking soda. After the dishes are done dump a bunch down there and let it do tis thing. Dont run water on it until you have to
Reply:Just use baking soda, at least every three days. Cheap and works effectively.
Reply:Yuck!

Just used normal detergen, hope it get away!
Reply:I use bleach. May be problem with drain trap.
Reply:They have these lil ball (they look like candy) and there lemon scented. you throw one in, turn on the garbage disposal and it helps clear out food and makes it smell fresh!
Reply:Just a shot, but if it is a kitchen sink it probably has two bowls. Both of those bowls should have a P-trap underneath them. That trap holds a little bit of water at all times to keep sewer gases from escaping back through the drain and into your kitchen. If you only use one of those bowls, the other trap may have run dry and sewer gases are escaping through it. Just run some water into that sink and it may stop the smell.
Reply:Pour a cup of vinegar down your drains every week, it not only makes them smell clean it cuts up any grease thats lodged down there and keeps it from getting clogged.
Reply:pour one any of these down the sink

peroxide

ammonia

baking soda

vinegar
Reply:lemon juice, or baking soda.
Reply:I would try a drain cleaner first. Some %26quot;gunk%26quot; may be sticking to the sides of the pipes. Then poor some bleach down there in case there is any mold or mildew.

One product that works great is Odo-Ban. You can get it at Sam%26#039;s Club and Wal-Mart. This works great for other areas of concern; I bet it would be good for drains, too.
Reply:you should not get many smells from your drain, there is only about 4 - 6 inches of pipe that you should smell after that the trap will stop anything from coming back up. make sure you have a trap on the line, it is a u shape that drops down and comes back up.
Reply:I like baking soda and other things that doesn%26#039;t harm the environment.
Reply:The best way to get smell out of a sink is to use vinegar, its also great for cleaning and you are not using all those nasty chemicals.
Reply:Hi

First use a foamy drain cleaner to clear the pipe..

If it still smells... Bleach... Fill you sink with Hot water and ADD 2 cups of bleach to it..... then drain it

Do this to both sides of the sink at the same time..each side gets 2 cups bleach

BUT do not mix this bleach water with any other cleaners not even dish soap.. or splash on you as it will take out color

Good Luck
